'Vikings' Season 5 News And Release Dates: Series To Be Back On Air On 2017?
"Vikings" Season 5 is going to kick off with whole new adventures where Ivar is going to play an important role. Series creator Michael Hirst revealed more details on what the season premiere is going to be in one interview.
In an interview, Hirst shared more details about the series adding that if he is not mistaken Season 5 will kick off with Sigurd's burial. Ivar was weeping over adding that he did not mean to kill him. This move causes a rift between the brothers and this will divide them in two camps.
"A large part of the next season will be about, will it be like this great Roman conflict after Caesar's death, the great Roman civil wars with Brutus and Cassius and Octavian? These people are playing for possession of the known world. It's not like a little local fight - these are huge territories. The Great Army has conquered a huge part of England. How do we behave now? That's what Season 5 opens with."
In "Vikings" Season 4, Ragnar met his death and his sons have the responsibility to continue on with his journey. A new character, Heahmund, has also been introduced in the previous installment and he is going to be Ivar's opponent. Ragnar's son Ivar proved to be an important figure in the story. Ivar would play a vital role in increasing the Viking territory and he is quite a strategic leader.
In "Vikings" Season 5 trailer, The Seer reveals that the consequences following Ragnar's death is yet to be revealed. Ivar and his numerous battled with Heahmund who is part of the main cast for the upcoming season. Although "Vikings" is inspired by historical events the series is starting to branch off and Sigurd's death is just the starting point. While there is no release date for Vikings Season 5 yet, there is talk that it will be back before the year is up.
