'DOTA 2' Latest News: Why Recent Patch 7.0 Is Terrible?
The latest patch for Valve's "DOTA 2" has made many changes to the multiplayer online battle arena game. Players are somehow dismayed by the changes since they are already interfering tremendously with the character's attacks and abilities - a game hero got killed by its own dagger.
To highlight the "not so good" effect of the latest patch, a reddit user named OraCLesofFire created a GIF that shows exactly what happened during a normal fight. A Phantom Assassin throws a dagger at a Nyx Assassin, but instead of destroying the Nyx, it was the Phantom who suffered the critical damage and died, according to Kotaku.
Most of the time, this kind of attacks happens at the end part of a "DOTA 2" match. This is also the time that almost all the heroes of the game are beefed up with the energy for their abilities. Strikes such as the dagger attack are considered advantageous. A hero equipped with such can throw it a distance, which increases their chance of not being attacked.
The latest "DOTA 2" patch completely overhauled the landscape. The added customization gave the players the option to choose between one of two buffs before a specific level is reached. This made the Nyx able to reflect the dagger back to the Phantom and even caused its damage to be double that ended the life of the latter.
One way or another, these kind of changes puts pressure to every player, casual or pro. Most of the time, when they are competent enough to say that they know everything about the game, an update suddenly arrives and changes everything. Professional "DOTA 2" players are constantly re-learning things whenever Valve puts out a patch.
Speaking of professional "DOTA 2" players, Redbull has compiled a list of the most successful teams that have made a career out of playing the game since it was introduced back in 2013.
At number 10 is CDEC Gaming that has earned a total of $3.5 million. Natus Vincere, Team Secret Digital Chaos and OG have earned between $3.6 to $4.1 million each, while LGD Gaming and Vici Gaming are almost at the $5 million mark.
Newbie has raked in a total of almost $7.2 million, Wings of Gaming have already won $9.6 million and the team with the most wins is Evil Geniuses, with a total of $13.6 million. Now those are professional gaming! Watch "DOTA 2" Patch 7.00 biggest changes:
