Prince Harry Celebrates The Expansion Of Coach Core At Lord's Cricket Club

In case the smitten Prince Harry will announce her engagement with Meghan Markle anytime soon, he has to comply with British law first. This is because Royal marriages are not easy to arrange like the typical ones, and aside from this, Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan will face a tricky challenge for both of them.

Getting married does not necessarily require the couple to ask for permission, but that's not the case for British royals. For them, like prince Harry, they have a seemingly difficult task of asking for approval and formal consent with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. The queen itself is not only intimidating but also, her full title "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith" will surely send tension.

According to Inquistr, the Royal Marriages Act that has started since 1772 is still applicable to the marriage of Prince Harry. King George, who created the act, had to do so because he was not satisfied with his sibling's marriages. Despite the reigning monarch having a different role today, the Marriages Act is still valid. It says that the "reigning monarch must grant approval to direct descendants."

With this in mind, a lot were questioning whether Queen Elizabeth will approve of Prince Harry and Meghan's marriage. Knowing that Markle wasn't even introduced to the monarch yet, no one still knows what the Queen's answer is.

Usually, British princes and princesses were allowed to marry someone who came from the upper English class, while most of them being married to someone in nobility or royalty. However, due to recent changes, some things have been accepted despite being unusual. Just like how Prince William has been married to a commoner Kate Midleton.

With this in mind, will Prince Harry succeed in asking Queen Elizabeth's approval of marrying Meghan Markle?
