Donald Glover To Play The Simba In The Live-Action Remake Of The Lion King
The Lion King live-action remake might be sooner than we expected. Details of the remake are slowly unraveling.
Jon Favreau, The Jungle Book director, was cherry-picked as the new director of the Disney's live-action remake of The Lion King. According to Newswire, before broadcasting a public release, the director already revealed the news through posting it in his personal twitter account which says that he is excited for his next project with a Lion and a crown emoji inserted at the end of the tweet. Also, The Walt Disney Studios attested to the director's claim through posting a confirmation in their own channel.
Disney has always been everyone's favorite. The Lion King, for instance, is one of the most eminent Disney films which garnered office gross of $968.8 million. The film even received several awards, including two Grammy Awards. In addition, Lion King's official soundtracks proved its popularity for selling out at least 14 million copies globally.
Immediately after the news about the remake of The Lion King surfaced, what delights the Disney fans more is the search for the Disney film's casts. To everyone's surprise, the newly crowned director of the film unveiled the actor who would play Simba, one of the main casts in the said Disney film. As covered by Newswire, although, the director didn't formally and directly state it, it seemed like he answered everyone's query and just told the twitter that Donald Glover is The Lion King's new Simba. However, Disney didn't confirm this yet but fans are already excited for the upcoming live-action remake.
There are no final details yet as to the date of release but fans should expect a wholesome throwback to Disney's The Lion King.
