‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2 Episode 8 Spoilers: Simon Confronts Clary; Alec Deals With Guilt Of Killing Jocelyn

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 episode 8 is gearing up to be a tense addition to the Freeform series as beloved characters are forced to face their worst fears. Clary (Katherine McNamara) will have a difficult time dealing with Alec's (Matthew Daddario) role in her mother's death, while a conversation with her best friend will unveil Simon's (Alberto Rosende) unrequited love for her.

Viewers will see several interesting and emotional scenes in the upcoming "Shadowhunters" Season 2 episode 8. Titled "Love is a Devil," the Lightwoods will be celebrating Max's (Jack Fulton) Rune Ceremony with Alec arranging the said event.

However, things will go awry when beloved characters' complicated relationships with each other will change some of the partygoers' festive mood, according to episode spoilers posted on Spoilers Guide. Simon, who has been in love with Clary for the longest time, will take a courageous step forward and reveal his feelings. Given the said vampire's growing attraction for Maia (Alisha Wainwright), it appears that Simon is ready to let go of his romantic feelings for Clary and explore a new relationship.

Meanwhile, the promo clip for the upcoming episode, also posted on the same news site, teased of Clary and Alec's tense encounter where the former accused the latter of murdering Jocelyn (Maxim Roy). Despite having been possessed by a demon at that time, Alec will feel remorseful given his role in Clary's mother's demise.

Another scene in the promo clip even showed Magnus' beau standing on a rooftop ledge while looking at the cityscape below. With a tortured expression on his face, it appears that Alec might be thinking of doing something drastic.

In other news, viewers will soon see a new character who will play a vital role in the Freeform series' storyline. Sebastian (Will Tudor) is set to appear in the second half of "Shadowhunters" Season 2 and will wreak havoc on Clary and her friends' lives.

In an earlier interview with TVLine, showrunner Darren Swimmer described Sebastian as a charming young man with a dark side. However, he did not divulge details about Sebastian's arc or how the said character will be introduced to the series.

"Shadowhunters" Season 2 episode 8 will be released on Feb. 20, Monday, on Freeform.
