International Youth Fellowship Heads To Korea For Series Of Activities; First Emirati Nominated For UN's Youth Program

International Youth Fellowship is set to hold a series of activities in Korea. The group's is to share the experiences of the group's more than 400 overseas volunteers, as announced last Tuesday.

International Youth Fellowship Sends Students Overseas Under GoodNews Corps Program

International Youth Fellowship is a Christian international youth initiative that sends college students overseas under the one-year volunteering program called GoodNews Corps. In 2016, reports indicate that the program sent 422 participants to 62 countries to share the stories of hardship and joy they experienced while abroad. Performances such as traditional dances in other countries as well as musical regarding the working experiences abroad are presented.

During last year's program, International Youth Fellowship noted that the work has been beyond just living with the locals and helping them, but also an opportunity to look back at their own lives.  Meantime, the 2017 GoodNews Corps Festival is reported to begin on Thursday in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, and will head to 12 other cities, which include two in Japan and 10 in Korea, before concluding in Hiroshima, Japan on Feb. 28.

International Youth Fellowship, meanwhile, is an international organization that is committed to the intellectual, spiritual and emotional growth of young people around the globe. The group is reported to strive to promote the Christian mission work in developed and still developing countries, establish global awareness of cultural exchange and provide alternative approaches to post-secondary education, Korea Herald reported.

First Emirati Gets Nominated For UN's International Youth Fellowship

UN Youth Assembly 2017 was participated by 24-year old Jawaher Almehairi, who is a member of the Dubai Youth Council, representing the younger population of the UAE. According to reports, Almehairi has been among the National foremost to the arrangements in 2017 and also the first Emirati to be nominated for an International Youth Fellowship by one of the UN programs, Khaleej Times reported.
