Marty Ingels Death Mourned; Cause Determined To Be A Massive Stroke

Marty Ingels, a veteran comic actor, TV legend, talent agent and industry's greatest storyteller died at Tarzana Medical Center, Wednesday after suffering a massive stroke. He was 79. He was married to Shirley Jones for almost 40 years.

He, according to Variety, has been known by his briskly, goofy style and husky voice. Later years in 1960, aside from being a producer, he worked as a voice artist specifically in cartoons and a talent agent.

Marty starred with John Astin in ABC's comedy TV series, "I'm Dickens, He's Fenster." The program is about two woodworkers who have very different personalities; one being the committed husband and the other was the womanizer. Marty portrayed Arch Fenster, the loyal husband. The comic sitcom was initiated and created by the veteran Leonard Stern, Variety reported.

More so, Bewitched , The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Pete and Gladys were one of the shows that Marty made appearances on, cited by Daily Mail.

In addition, Marty participated in different films like This Must Be Belgium, A Guide for the Married Man and If It's Tuesday, The Horizontal Lieutenant and Wild and Wonderful.

The versatile TV legend also enjoyed doing different voice-overs for commercials, a hundred of it in fact. Marty also did some cartoon voice over including the voice of AutoCat on "AutoCat and Motormouse," Daily Mail mentioned. He was also the man behind Beegle Beagle's comic voice on "The Great Grape Ape Show." Furthermore, Marty then lent his unique voice by doing "Pac-Man", a video game inspired cartoon series, reported by Daily Mail.

In 1974, Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels met. They were in a home party of Michael Landon who starred in "Little House on the Prairie." It was a year after Shirley has been divorced with his first husband Jack Cassidy. After their mutual love, Daily Mail mentioned, the pair got married at 1977.

"He often drove me crazy, but there's not a day I won't miss him and love him to my core," Jones said Variety reported.

Since the announcement was known, fans have been mourning his death. To them, even when Marty Ingels had passed on, his legacy and good works not only in the industry but most especially the moral inspiration he shared will forever live in their hearts.
