In Los Angeles County Superior Court, the county singer filed a $2 million defamation lawsuit to In Touch magazine for saying that he was advised to enter a rehab for his alcoholism that leads his marriage to divorce, TMZ reported.
"For the second time in as many months, Bauer has maliciously plastered Mr. Shelton's face on the cover of its tabloid In Touch Weekly and made false accusations all in an effort to drive magazine sales," from Washington Post.
To the said defamation claim, Blake's lawyers will establish facts to regarding his intentions of being "malicious", cited by Washington Post.
In addition, not too long ago after Blake and Lambert's divorce, In Touch magazine released a story last August stating his, Blake, infidelity. The magazine claimed that Cady Groves were having an affair while the country singer was still married with the Nashville singer, Miranda.
Furthermore, the accusation of the said magazine, Blake and Cady were in a relationship for about a year, cited an anonymous source though it hadn't been denied by Cady, reported by Washington Post.
Blake's lawsuit, according to Washington Post, answered the issue as he was just helping Cady when she was in the midst of her blooming career. He made it very clear that he and Cady were just friends.
Being country music's one of the brightest, Blake Shelton entered. He is one of great and reputable voice coaches on the famous reality singing contest, "The Voice," over the past consecutive years.
"Mr. Shelton is portrayed as a man unhinged and, as stated on the cover, a man at 'rock bottom,' lawsuit emphasized. " This is patently false and is damaging to Mr. Shelton ... In Touch's publication exposed Mr. Shelton to contempt, ridicule and obloquy, and tarnished his personal and business reputation," Washington Post reported.
More so, the lawsuit also stated that Blake was not in his bottom rock, reported by The Boot. The superstar has been very busy for being "The Voice" main stay voice coach and judge.
Meanwhile, both Blake and Miranda has been invited to perform at CMA Awards this coming Nov. 4. This will be the very first time that the former couple will be seen to ramp in the same event since their very emotional and controversial divorce.
