A-TEAM's New Song Faces Plagiarism Accusation: The New Taiwanese Idol Is Accused Of Plagiarizing GOT7 And BTS
The Taiwanese boy band, A-TEAM, has recently released their song in January this year. However, instead of rejoicing, fans have noticed that it has a shocking resemblance to the song "Hard Carry" by GOT7.
A-TEAM is a five-member boy band who is a part of the TV Show "Fighting Legendary Groups" that showcases two more other teams (B-Team and C-Team) fighting for the chance to debut. Their song entitled "Mr. A-TEAM" was written and produced by the Future Sound's Jeremy G. Meanwhile, Daniel Kim, who is also responsible for producing and working with GOT7 based on his online bio, receives credit for being the backing vocal arranger, vocal producer, and recording engineer.
The said producer has also included in his profile that he has worked with numerous K-Pop groups like TWICE, EXO, and Miss A. Furthermore, Daniel Kim claims that he is also a founder of Legendary Music, as reported by Koreaboo.
Meanwhile, the song "Hard Carry" by GOT7 has debuted in September 2016 as a part of their album Flight log: Departure, with Daniel Kim claiming that he has also contributed to producing two songs such as "Home Run". However, after the release of A-TEAM's song, a fan sent a message to the "Fighting! Legendary Group" Facebook page to ask whether they are informed of the plagiarism accusations while also saying that the song is almost the same as "Fire" by BTS.
" Excuse me. Can you explain why A TEAM's new song sounds so much like Korean male group BTS and GOT7's songs? The music at the beginning already sounds a lot like BTS' Fire. Can you get the composer to explain a little?" a fan asked the show's official page. " How do you explain the opening sounding like BTS' song?"
Soon after, the TV Show released an official statement telling that they too believe that there are similarities with A-TEAM and GOT7's song, however, it also has differences. The official Facebook page of the show also said to the fan that the admin who was rude was being reprimanded.
