With the massive success of "Goblin" that further increased Gong Yoo and other cast members' popularity, many celebrities are looking forward to the tvN drama's writer Kim Eun Sook's next project. Recently, Jo In Sung revealed that he would also like to join Kim's new drama.

Writer Kim added another successful drama to her repertoire with the popularity of the recently concluded tvN fantasy drama "Goblin." Also known as "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God," the said production starred Gong, an actor whom Kim has always wanted to work with.

Having spent nearly five years inviting the "Train to Busan" actor to star in one of her dramas, Gong finally relented and gave viewers a memorable character with his powerful yet shy titular role in "Goblin." With Kim taking a break before diving into a new drama project, it appears that many South Korean celebrities are hoping to become Gong's successor as the new star in the said screenwriter's new series.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Jo conveyed his interest to play a role in Kim's upcoming new project, Soompi reported. He stated, "Although I don't know what Kim Eun Sook has planned for her next project, I really hope that I can be a part of it."

At this time, Kim has yet to comment on Jo's statement about a potential collaboration. It is also unclear if the "Goblin" writer will stick to a contemporary drama given earlier reports that the screenwriter might explore a historical drama as her next project.

In other news, Jo's new movie "The King" posted strong box office numbers more than two weeks after its premiere. The film gained an additional 409,662 viewers to its total audience share of 4.9 million during the Feb. 3 to Feb. 5 period, according to the Korean Film Council, as cited by Yonhap News.

"The King," which stars Jo, Jung Woo Sung, and Bae Seong Woo, was released in South Korea on Jan. 18.
