Akira Toriyama's new saga, the Dragon Ball Super, kicked off with a new and exciting story arc that the viewers would not like to miss. The "Universal Survival" saga marks some new beginning for the show.

The start of the new storyline begins with a new opening song. But furthermore, the show acquired two new directors namely Tatsuya Nagamine and Ryota Nakamura.

According to Comic Book, Dragon Ball Super already has five directors since the beginning of the animated series. The first three were Kimitoshi Chioka, Morio Hatano and then, Kohei Hatano.

Nakamura has experience directing other Dragon Ball franchises more than Nagamine. However, the latter is also credited for directing other animated films and series such as Digimon and One Piece Film Z.

The new saga for the Dragon Ball Super series premiered on February 5, 2017. It airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. On the other hand, Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.

Prior to its official launch, the show released its extended trailer. Vegeta and Goku's epic battles against formidable opponents have been the focal point of the preview.

But more than that, the extended trailer also shows Universe 7's ultimate warriors who are Tenshinhan, Chaozu, Master Roshi, Krillin, and Android 18.  The Dragon Ball Superfans would also see Gohan and Videl's newborn baby, who could be a Saiyan in the future.

Below is the official synopsis for the "Universal Survival" saga; on the other hand, the extended trailer is available for viewing here:

"At Goku's request, the Omni-Kings' 'Tournament of Power' martial arts tournament between universes now begins! ...But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished...?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out...?!"
