Millions of fans are now excited for the upcoming premiere of the "Avatar 2" movie. Now, new reports are claiming that the production of the much-awaited sequel is going to start within 2017.

Bleeding Cool reported that "Avatar 2" director James Cameron and lead stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver will start filming any time from now. The news outlet has claimed that the December 21, 2018 premiere date of the sequel movie could really mean that production will kick off soon.

Most fans know that "Avatar 2" premiere date has been moved from 2014, then 2016, to 2017. However, James Cameron has revealed that his team did not only focus on the first sequel but also for the other three movies after the second movie.

"The thing is, my focus isn't on Avatar 2. My focus is on Avatar 2, 3, 4, and 5 equally. That's exactly how I'm approaching it," "Avatar 2" director James Cameron has revealed in an interview with The Daily Beast. "They've all been developed equally. I've just finished the script to Avatar 5. I'm now starting the process of active prep."

James Cameron divulged that writing "Avatar 2," "Avatar 3," "Avatar 4" and "Avatar 5" is actually one of the reasons why the sequel did not come out on the expected date. Some reports have also revealed that there has been some issues between the director and the lead stars.

GamenGuide has previously reported that "Avatar 2" lead stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana have been demanding for higher paychecks given the success of the first movie. According to reports, the two personalities requested for increase in salary before they start filming for the first sequel.

Aside from that, there are also rumors claiming that James Cameron has been given a small budget for the "Avatar 2" movie, which allegedly caused its delay. However, it seems like these speculations are untrue.

"Avatar 2" is expected to hit theaters in December 21, 2018. Stay tuned to Korea Portal for the latest news and updates about the upcoming "Avatar 2" movie!
