The New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly discussing the terms of the potential blockbuster NBA trade this season. The Knicks is sending out Carmelo Anthony to Clippers in exchange for 3 players.

The ESPN reported that the Knicks and the Clippers are up to a potential trade that would send Carmelo Anthony to the win-now Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are known to be the top suitor of Carmelo Anthony as of the moment and is actively trading Jamal Crawford, Austin Rivers and the sharpshooter J.J. Redick.

However, the Knicks are could not agree to absorb Jamal Crawford's contract which is about $42 million, the reason why both teams are looking for another trade partner. And for the Clippers, the management is quite not sure about releasing J.J. Redick even they have a lot of options in the backcourt rotation.

Another issue on the Clippers' side is the fact that they are currently in the salary ceiling. If the Clippers acquired Carmelo Anthony this year via trade, Anthony will receive a bonus of $10 million on his contract since it is included in his contract.

According to the OC Reports, the New York Knicks are very serious to trade Carmelo Anthony in no time. The Knicks president Phil Jackson had already expressed his thoughts of sending out Carmelo Anthony over the past weeks.

Carmelo Anthony recently said in an interview that the trade drama involving him really hurts him bad. He is trying to ignore that issue, but it keeps coming back since he used to hear about it everywhere, Anthony added.

With this kind of situation between the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony, it is likely to see that both parties will part ways before the NBA trade deadline comes. As for some sports analysts, Carmelo Anthony would probably end up playing with the Knicks until the rest of the season.
