Square Enix Reveals Plot To Interconnect Marvel Games Just Like In The Movies
Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment had been working on several titles and just like the movies, the successful superhero franchise plans to interconnect their video games as well. The latest news is that the Avengers Project will have some characters that will be appearing in the Spider-Man PS4 game.
The Avengers Project has been teased by Square Enix and the trailer had the hashtag #reassemble and hinting with appearances of the top three Avengers' weapons such as Thor's Mjolnir, Captain America's indestructible shield, and Iron Man's repulsors being left behind by their owners.
Fans could only expect the most popular and notable characters to be included in the Avengers Project in the likes of the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Iron Man. Still, Marvel fanatics expect that some surprise characters to appear like Ms. Marvel, Nova, Kate Bishop, Miss America, Jane Foster, Maria Hill, Nick Fury and Ultimate Spider-Man to appear in the game according to GameRant.
The Avengers Project storyline is hinted that a powerful villain caused the breakup of the group and it is expected to have continuity until 2018 and will include a tie-up with a future Spider-Man game to start with. Thought it is just hinted, some still wonder how Insomniac Games (who handles Spider-Man) and Square Enix will be handling the continuity since both are competitors.
To counter that rumor, it has been stated that the stories of the games must pass the standards of Marvel Entertainment before it can be released to the public. Meaning to say, different producers are working with the same writers.
This proves to be one of the biggest years of Square Enix, aside from releasing the Avengers Project game, the company had been riding the success of Final Fantasy XV in what seems to be the biggest game of the year.
