‘Star Wars: Episode 8’ Spoilers & Update: Rey Confirmed As New Squad Leader; Eight Movie’s Official Title Revealed; Trailer Arriving April 2017

Several fans are now excited for the imminent "Star Wars: Episode 8" film after its official title has been revealed. Now, new reports are claiming that the upcoming movie will focus more on Rey, the last Jedi.

Called as "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," the incoming eighth installment is rumored to tackle the adventures of Rey. Speculations have it that Rey is the last Jedi being referred to the official "Star Wars: Episode 8" movie title.

Independent reported that the "Star Wars: Episode 8" is going to be an odd movie. As a matter of fact, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan has revealed that he did not expect Rian Johnson to be at the helm.

"If you've seen Rian's work, you know it's not going be like anything that's ever been in Star Wars," Lawrence Kasdan has revealed about "Star Wars: Episode 8." "You couldn't have three more different people than J.J., Rian and Colin [Trevorrow, Episode IX director]."

Lawrence Kasdan further revealed that Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia are expected to appear in "Star Wars: Episode 8" movie. So, fans who have been patiently waiting for the franchise's eighth installment should expect Domhnall, John, Oscar, and Daisy having scenes with the legendary characters, LA Times shared.

Meanwhile, Korea Portal previously reported that Erik Davis, Fandango and MoviesDotCom managing director, has already confirmed that the official trailer for "Star Wars: Episode 8" is going to be released in April 2017. It was also learned that the production team is currently working on the animation and editing of the upcoming film.

There are also claims saying that Carrie Fisher's character, Princess Leia, might have some scenes with actress Laura Dern, who revealed that women will frontline the movie. "Star Wars: Episode 8" will continue where the seventh movie left off.
