'Red Dead Redemption 2' is NOT coming to the Nintendo Switch

Bad news is on the way for fans who initially thought that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be playable on the Nintendo Switch. A recent press conference held by Nintendo seems to have confirmed what a lot of analysts and critics have predicted.

Major Press Event Details Switch's Specs

According to RDR2.com, a recent media event was held by Nintendo to give the public a closer look at what should be expected of the Nintendo Switch. The outlet points out that "Red Dead Redemption 2" was not featured in the recent conference.

The Reason Behind the Absence of "RDR2"

While numerous fans will be disappointed with the latest update on "Red Dead Redemption 2," it should be noted that developer Rockstar has not collaborated with Nintendo yet. While the gaming giant is known for its joint projects with third-party developers, Rockstar is not among the companies that Nintendo has worked with in the past.

"RDR" Has More Chances of Landing on the Switch

It appears that because of the Switch's hardware specs, being a less stronger console than the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One, the first installment in the Rockstar series has more chances of being launched on the highly anticipated gaming platform. "Red Dead Redemption 2" will apparently feature improved gameplay and will be harder to optimize on the Nintendo Switch compared to "RDR."

New Details on "RDR2" Expected to be Released Soon

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is coming in a few months. While Rockstar has been silent over the past weeks since the trailer's release, fans can expect to get more details about the title soon.

Take-Two Interactive will be holding its quarterly earnings call on February 7, according to Yahoo Finance. On that day, it is expected that the parent company of Rockstar Games will unveil more details about its upcoming games. "RDR2" fans will most likely get more information about the plot, maps, and gameplay by then.

When Will "RDR2" Release?

So far, Rockstar has not announced a specific release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2." The closest fans have regarding the highly anticipated sequel's launch is Q4 2017. This means players can expect the title to land on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime between October to December 2017, as long as there are no delays.
