Missing Georgia Tech Student Found Alive; Jimmy Hubert Tracked Thru An IPhone!
The 24-year old Georgia Tech student Jimmy Hubert was found along the railroad in Atlanta. He is an aerospace engineering and Phi Delta Theta fraternity member that went missing since Friday after seen leaving a Greek party on Friday night at 11 p.m, as reported by Georgia Tech.
Hubert involuntarily left the part with his date's phone and fortunately, it is the way in finding him. His friend, Emma Jeffrey, used the Find My iPhone app to know his whereabouts and was able to track his location since his date's phone has this app. She went to find him in the area where she got the last ping from the phone.
"We were about to turn around and then I said there was a shaded area you know over in the ditch and I said 'What's that?' and then sure enough it was Jimmy," she said. Emma calls one of Hubert's fraternity brother, Christian Battaglia to let them know that she and her company found him and unresponsive.
"Emma calls me, hysterical, that they found him and he is not responding," Christian told NBC News. His friends rushed to where he is while waiting for the ambulance. Hubert was found lying down on the road, "His face was just really messed up - dried blood all over his lips. ... He had some stuff on his back that looked like dried blood." He added.
The Georgia Tech student found, still alive but is suffering a lot because of his injuries from the incident. He is now in an Intensive Care Unit in Grady Memorial Hospital, according to AJC. He is suffering with paralysis on his left side, broken ribs, broken vertebrae, broken scapula, blood on the brain, and puncture lung.
The police didn't give any details about what happened to him but his mother, Diane Hubert shared on Facebook that her son was robbed and badly beaten after he got off from the train. Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton said the investigators doesn't see any evidence for a foul play since Hubert is inconsistent in giving them details about the incident.
Georgia Tech's spokesperson Lance Wallace said that the Atlanta police took over the investigation since the incident happened off campus. The Atlanta Police Department said that there is an ongoing investigation for his case, told on ABC News. Chief Robert Connolly of Georgia Tech police complimented Hubert friends for not giving up in finding their friend, as reported on Atlanta Journal Constitution.
