Millions of gamers around the world are patiently waiting for the upcoming stocks of the Nintendo Classic Mini NES. Now, new reports are claiming that Nintendo might not be working for the additional stocks of the NES Classic because of the imminent and equally sought-after Nintendo Switch.

i4u reported that GameStop might make Nintendo Classic Mini NES available in their physical and online stores on Wednesday, Jan. 11. The news outlet claimed that a sales assistant in the store has divulged the information.

Aside from that, the publication has also cited a comment on NowInStock.Net claiming GameStop will be getting Nintendo Classic Mini NES inventory at its warehouse. Yet, it should be noted that these speculations remain unconfirmed until now.

Some stores are getting limited Nintendo Classic Mini NES stocks daily, i4u reported. However, it emphasized that the availability of the classic console in online stores remain dire since last year.

"Nintendo has not resupplied retailers with the NES Classic in a significant way. The in-stock level of the NES at Target stores is at 5% according to BrickSeek," i4u reported. "Chances that your local Target has the NES in stock are very low right now."

Express, on the other hand, reported that there were limited Nintendo Classic Mini NES stocks sold in a Nintendo Store in New York City on January 3. But, as expected, all units were already sold a few hours later.

Meanwhile, some gamers have it that the upcoming launching of the hybrid console Nintendo Switch could possibly be the reason behind the scarcity in the supply of Nintendo Classic Mini NES. Shack News reported that Nintendo Switch will be unveiled on Thursday, January 12.

The news outlet added that Nintendo Switch will be available at an initial price of $250 on its March 17 release. Up until now, Nintendo has remained silent on the launch and price details of the hybrid console. Also, the Japanese video game company is yet to confirm if there will be new Nintendo Classic Mini NES coming.
