JYP Entertainment to Take Legal Actions Against Malicious Rumors About TWICE

by Fraeraine / Jan 06, 2017 05:41 AM EST
TWICE unleashed a new set of cuts of Mina, Momo, and Tzuyu where they're cutely posing for their comeback with ''Signal''.

JYP Entertainment is finally stepping up against the malicious rumors that surfaced the net just recently targeting its rookie girl group TWICE.

The label announced late Thursday, January 5, that they are to take legal actions against those who are spreading malicious rumors about TWICE. The label's official statement is as follows:

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

We announce that from now on we will be taking strong action against all posts and comments on online communities and SNS platforms containing sexually harassing content, malicious rumors, false information, and defaming statements regarding TWICE and their members.

We have been receiving reports and monitoring malicious posts about TWICE, and have continuously checked the degree of the situation.

Recently, we came to the decision that the number and degree of malicious posts have come to a point where we can no longer watch in silence. We officially announce that plan to take strong actions to protect the rights of our artist, as well as their mental and physical health.

Recently, cases such as theses have generally increased in society, leading to a stronger degree of punishment for the malicious actions happening online.

We're currently in the process of looking over past posts with a legal representative to take action. We also want to notify that we'll be taking the strongest legal action against all malicious acts occurring in the future."

TWICE just had their debut last October 20, 2015. But although the girl group is literally new in the music scene, they have already proven a lot.

TWICE's 2nd mini-album 'The Story Begins', which was released April last year, set a record as the highest first-week sales volume for a K-pop girl group in 2016. The group's 3rd mini-album 'TWICEcoaster: Lane 1', which was released October last year, also set another record making TWICE as the highest-selling girl group in the history (as proven by Hanteo and Gaon charts' records).
