Oh Ji Ho Wants Daughter To Be An Actress
Actor Oh Ji Ho revealed that he wished his daughter Seo Heun would grow up to become an actress.
The 40-year-old actor of the KBS' drama "Oh My Geumbi" (translated as "My Fair Lady") and variety show "Superman is Back" talked about his daughter nicknamed Jibong in an interview during a recent pictorial with "JLOOK."
The topic was appropriate with the pictorial's theme "Mr. Daddy."
"I wish that Seo Heun would get a job that she can enjoy herself while also touching the people around the world and giving hope," allkpop quoted the handsome actor as saying. "And I believe the best job for that would be acting. It'd be nice if she was good at academics, but even if she were, I would like for her to be an actress."
The father-and-daughter tandem joined the "Superman is Back" last year for a new format that grouped the Oh father-daughter into a babysitting zone with hip hop artist Yang Dong Geun and daughter Joy and actor In Gyo Jin and daughter Ha Eun. The trio named themselves "OGG."
Oh Ji Ho admitted he and his wife Eun Bo Ah, a fashion designer, initially rejected the offer to join the reality program. It was only because the producers were persistent that the couple eventually changed their mind.
Their first episode happened to be Seo Heun's 100th birthday. It was also the first time that the actor watched his daughter by himself and prepared for the birthday celebration at the same time. He confessed that it was so difficult that he had a mental breakdown and wanted to quit then.
Oh Ji Ho also plays the role of a father and a conman in "My Fair Lady" with a daughter that suffers from a Niemann-Pick disease.
He said that being a family man has influenced his decisions including this acting project.
"No matter what the role, I will take it on if the production is one that can make the public cry, laugh, and feel touched," he said. "I believe this is a time when the most important thing is family so I chose 'Oh My Geumbi.' After getting married, my attitude toward my work has greatly changed. I feel more responsible and I feel like I am digging deeper into my acting."
