‘Underworld 5’ Movie Cast Confirmed; Production Begins For Film's 2016 Release
Sony just confirmed that the production for 2016 movie "Underworld 5" had started today, with the principal photography being done in European city of Prague. "Underworld 5" cast has also been confirmed. Shooting will be scheduled in 10 weeks and will take place solely in the Czech capital and its nearby areas as reported by Comingsoon.net.
Gorgeous actress Kate Beckinsale along with Theo James will return to reprise their respective roles as the heroine Selene and her sidekick David. Also included in "Underworld 5" cast are British actors Tobias Menzies and Lara Pulver playing the roles of a new Lycan leader and a yet to be named Vampire, with Charles Dance as Vampire elder Thomas.
Completing the stellar "Underworld 5" cast are James Faulkner, Peter Anderson, newcomer Clementine Nicholson, Bradley James and Daisy Head. Anna Foerster is set to direct the film. Forester is known for her cinematography work on notable blockbuster films such as "Independence Day," "The Day After Tomorrow" and "White House Down."
Compared to the first four films of the series, "Underworld 5" might serve as the turning point of the story. Beckinsale has been rumored not to appear in the next film however there is no announcement from Sony that this will be her last time to be seen in the movie series according to Slash Film.
The announcement, however, did hint a clue regarding the development of James' role. After "Underworld 5" his character might possibly lead a "new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves" that are trapped in an endless battle between supernatural races. This would surely be a good idea especially that James had become more popular after he starred in "Divergent."
Cory Goodman will work on the screenplay for the film, while list of producers include Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Richard S. Wright of Lakeshore Entertainment, along with David Kern and Len Wiseman.
"Underworld 5" is set to premiere in theaters on October 21, 2016.
