Joshua Jackson Says 'Dawson’s Creek' Revival Won’t Happen

Joshua Jackson played Pacey Witter in the teen drama "Dawson's Creek" and said a revival now just won't work.

The 38-year-old actor who played Dawson Leery's best friend (played by James Van Der Beek) and a love triangle with Joey Potter (played by Katie Holmes) shared why he thinks a revival of the show with the older version of the cast characters wouldn't cut.

"I think for anybody who was a fan of Dawson's, to actually see us on camera again might be a little bit shocking and kind of heartbreaking," he said in a guest appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday.

"We're not cute kids anymore! It's been a long time. We're holding up OK, but I think if you put the four of us now up to the four us then, it might be a little shocking," added the actor.

The series ended 13 years ago but the recent mini "Dawson's Creek" reunion between Van Der Beek and Michelle Williams, who played Jen Lindley, ignited a buzz among the show's fans.

Jackson, who has since starred in Fox's sci-fi series "Fringe" and Showtime's "The Affair," reminded everyone that Williams' character was killed off at the end of the season. This, he argued, is one big hurdle why the show's four lead stars can't be seen together in a "Dawson's Creek" revival.

The 37-year-old Holmes was also asked about a possible reunion among the original cast. She revealed that the cast members saw each other from time to time but didn't think a reunion could be in the making.

"I think that the charm of the show was [creator] Kevin Williamson's writing and it was of that time. And it gave teenagers this voice," Holmes said last week in an interview with SiriusXM's "Just Jenny Show." 

Jackson and Holmes dated each other during the first two seasons of "Dawson's Creek." Rumors that the stars have rekindled their romance started after the actor split up with German actress Diane Kruger. Holme's representative quickly denied the rumors.
