T.O.P. Misses Having A Girlfriend While Big Bang Readies For Upcoming Military Enlistment
Big Bang's rapper T.O.P. said he wants to have a girlfriend while the group prepares for his upcoming military enlistment.
The 29-year-old member of Korea's biggest hip hop group was revealed to have thrown in more effort in fixing the rap portion in one of their latest singles "Girlfriend." This led T.O.P. to explain and even joke about not having a girlfriend for a long time.
"From what I know, I'm aware that T.O.P greatly modified the raps put into the song," allkpop quoted the youngest member Seungri as saying.
They appeared on a live broadcast through the "V" app Monday night as they counted down the release of their first full-length album "MADE The Full Album" in eight years.
"I think I fixed it up like twenty times," T.O.P. admitted. "It's because it's been so long since I had a girlfriend that I wanted to have one. That's a joke. In order to portray that feeling well, I worked hard and kept fixing it."
"Girlfriend" grabbed the third spot in all eight major Korean music charts shortly after the album was out. The other new singles "FXXK IT" came in second and "Last Dance" soared to the top spot.
According to allkpop, the new songs also topped the iTunes charts in 19 other countries such as the Philippines, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Finland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Brunei, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
In an interview Tuesday, Big Bang opened up about their upcoming military enlistments beginning with T.O.P.'s entry as a police officer in February.
"All five members were consulting so we don't have to wait long to get back together," the group said, as reported by Koreaboo.
With this in mind, G-Dragon and Taeyang plan to be conscripted next year while Daesung and Seungri would follow suit the year after.
"We were going to enlist together if we did not renew our contracts," G-Dragon joked.
