Go Kyung Pyo Shares About His Relationship with Park Bo Gum; Actors Disproves the “Reply Curse”
Actor Go Kyung Pyo talks about his relationship with "Reply 1988" co-star Park Bo Gum. The 26-year-old actor revealed how he still maintains his friendship with Park Bo Gum while they are both busy dealing with their individual acting careers.
"I think there's something [between us]," Go Kyung Pyo stated in a recent interview, as cited by Soompi. "It wasn't possible to grow fond of him."
The actor recounted that his closeness with Park Bo Gum is due to some fate that kept them meeting each other. He said that they both met in the action movie "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" and while they didn't have a scene together, they still greeted each other on set. After that, the two continued to meet in TV series "Tomorrow Cantabile," movie "Coin Locker Girl," and even variety show "Youth Over Flowers." However, their bond as fellow actors and as friends has essentially grown through "Reply 1988."
"He's like a reliable younger brother but there are times when he seems like a friend, too." Go Kyung Pyo, who is three years older than Park Bo Gum, shared. "He's young, but his thoughts are deep. He has a tender heart, too. I'm glad that I was able to meet a friend and colleague like that."
Speaking of Park Bo Gum and "Reply 1988," Go Kyung Pyo also shared what he thinks of the rumored "Reply" curse.
"Actors don't stress about things like that," Go Kyung Pyo shared. "Rather than success or failure, everyone tries to focus on the acting itself. So talking about a 'curse' only burdens the actors."
Despite the "reply curse" that claim actors who have starred in tvN's "Reply" drama series will never have another hit drama, both Go Kyung Pyo, and Park Bo Gum proved the rumors wrong. The two stars have recently finished each of their individual small screen dramas which were both considered great success; Park Bo Gum with "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" and Go Kyung Pyo with "Jealousy Incarnate."
