Lee Joon Gi sits down in an interview with Naver TVcast after Korean drama series "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" aired its last episode.

The 34-year-old actor sat down in an interview with Naver TVcast on Nov. 2 and talked about his experience on set and playing his character, 4th Prince Wang So.

"I've gained another unforgettable character," Joon Gi said. "While I was acting as Wang So, I had a lot of worries and concerns about making sure that Wang So was different from my previous sageuk roles, but it's hard to believe that it's the last episode."

Joon Gi is known for his preference on sageuk dramas. "Sageuk" is a term used to refer to any Korean TV series or film that makes use of historical setting, particularly with regards to Korean history. Among some of Joon Gi's previous sageuk dramas are "Iljimae," "Arang and the Magistrate," and "Scholar Who Walks the Night." Now, "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" adds up to the actor's portfolio that upholds his reputation as one of the leading sageuk actors.

"While it was really hard, I want to say 'Thank you' to the character," Joon Gi continued. "I hope he's happier in his next life, and that he stays happy with Hae Soo for a long, long time."

"Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" began its broadcast on Aug. 29 and aired its final episode on Nov. 1 (KST.) Actor Lee Joon Gi was cast as 4th Prince Wang So, the main male lead opposite actress Lee Ji-Eun, most commonly known as IU, who played the role of Go Ha-jin/ Hae Soo. Soompi reports that the SBS drama ended its run with a total of 11.3 percent total viewership, the drama's highest rating overall.

While fans have bittersweet feelings of saying goodbye to "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo," Lee Joon Gi appeases fans with a sweet message in his latest Instagram post.

"I want to say thank you to all the love and support my fans have been giving me from all over the world," The actor wrote. "You guys will hear about (my) upcoming projects soon. I am super excited to be meeting all of you in person very soon!"

Joon Gi is currently busying himself with fan meetings prepared by his agency Namoo Actors.
