Lee Soo Man bagged a ‘2016 Asia Game Changer Award’, becomes the first Korean to be recognized in such field.

Lee Soo Man won a '2016 Asia Game Changer Award' and became the very first Korean to win such an award. SM Entertainment's CEO, Lee Soo Man, went to New York on October 27 to attend '2016 Asia Game Changer Awards and Gala Night.' The event was held at the United Nations in New York. The reception started at 6 PM and was followed by dinner at 7 PM. Attendees went to the event on their cocktail attire or national costumes.

Lee Soo Man won a '2016 Asia Game Changer Award' for "allowing K-Pop to become the worldwide sensation it is today as well as creating numerous markets for its expansion", as his introduction goes. He was branded as a "music game changer" and was awarded along with other awardees from other Asian countries. He is known to be the very first Korean to be recognized in the said award-giving body.

Lee Soo Man bagged a '2016 Asia Game Changer Award' along with Zhang Yimou, a Chinese film director, I.M. Pei, a Chinese-American architect, Sanduk Ruit, a Nepali eye surgeon, Karim Wasfi, an Iraqi orchestral conductor and a whole lot more.

The 'Asia Game Changer Awards' was launched by the Asia society in 2014 with the sole purpose of identifying and giving honors to the people who are making a positive contribution to the future Asia. They are giving recognition to those who are considered as "game changers" by making a positive impact in the Asian culture.

This year marked the third year of 'Asia Game Changer Awards'. The people behind this award-giving body wished to honor more Asian dreamers and leaders in the future and to give recognition to those who are actually making a difference. And with the news that Lee Soo Man bagged a '2016 Asia Game Changer Award', the Korean community is also hoping that this is just the first of the many awards a fellow countryman would be able to take home in the future.
