3 New Dramas Ranked High in Content Power Index

On Thursday, data showed that three new dramas ranging from a romantic-comedy to an action-romance were included on a TV popularity chart following their first week of airing, Yonhap News Agency reported.

A romantic-comedy shown on MBC, "Shopaholic Louis" tells the story of an amnesiac chaebol heir and a country girl who searches for her runaway brother ranked third on the Content Power Index (CPI) for the week of September 19-25. The drama garnered 244.3 points for its two initial episodes. It stars Seo In Guk and Nam Ji Hyun.

"On the Way to the Airport," a KBS 2TV drama placed sixth on the popularity chart with 234.9 points. The drama series revolves around the story of two married individuals who developed mutual feelings for each other. The lead stars of the drama are Kim Ha Neul and Lee Sang Yoon. This is the comeback project of Kim after her wedding earlier this year.

The action-romance "The K2," which airs on cable channel tvN, took the seventh place. The lead actors for the drama are Ji Chang Wook and Girls' Generation member Yoona. The drama is about a former mercenary, played by Ji, who was hired by a presidential candidate's wife (Song Yun Ah) to keep an eye on her husband's illegitimate child played by Yoona and to distance her from the media and the public in general.

CPI was developed by entertainment company CJ E&M with media rating company Nielsen Korea. Its main focus is to determine the popularity of TV shows according to the number of views of related news stories, mentions in social media, and keyword searches.

KBS 2TV period drama "Love in the Moonlight" led the chart for three weeks in a row with 276.2 points. Another period romance series which also rivals the leading drama in the same time slot, "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," placed second.

The variety show "Infinity Challenge" garnered 243.7 points and took the fourth place while SBS romantic-comedy series "Jealousy Incarnate" jumped six places higher to capture the fifth place with 236.3 points.
