Rookie girl group BLACPINK continues to wow the music industry, not only in South Korea but all over the world. The group was once again featured on an international website for their successful debut and interesting music genre.

YG Entertainment announced on its Facebook page that the group was recently featured in entertainment Weekly's article titled "8 Hot Under-the-radar Singles from Emerging Artists You Need to Hear Now." Along with the other tracks from other foreign artists, BLACKPINK's single "Whistle" was selected as one of the songs that the world needs to know about.

A part of the introduction of the Entertainment Weekly article reads, "Have a listen, below (the online article featured the MVs of the featured songs as well), to new tracks from eight emerging artists who've yet to make it big in the U.S."

The article's description of BLACKPINK's "Whistle" says, "All-female girl groups are everywhere in South Korea but the bass-heavy sounds of the four-piece supergroup BLACKPINK stand out in a big way. With opening lyrics like "Hey, Boy. Make ya whistle like a missile," the quartet's single promises an unabashedly playful ride from the start. The song quickly turns up the heat, layering irresistible finger snaps, a saccharine bridge, electric guitar riffs, mammoth bass, and, of course, cow bell-accompanied whistles. The track, taken from the ladies' debut EP, "Square One," peaked at No. 1 in South Korea, and it wouldn't sound entirely out of place occupying a similarly lofty position on American charts, either."

The girls are reportedly preparing for their comeback following their agency's confirmation of returning with new songs in October.

Koreaboo previously reported that a source from YG Entertainment said that the group is indeed making a comeback. The source stated, "BLACKPINK has already filmed the music video for a new, unreleased song, and will be filming for another music video for a new track during the Chuseok holiday period. There are plans to release both music videos in October. For their comeback, there will be a minimum of two new tracks, or there could be more."
