Along with winning the final major at the 2016 LPGA season in France, Chun In Gee also set an impressive record to cap her victory, according to a report from Yonhap News Agency.

Chun managed to take home the win at the Evian Championship at 21-under 263 at Evian Resorts Golf Club. She beat two other South Korean golfers Park Sung Hyun and Ryu So Yeon by four strokes.

Her winning score was the lowest in relation to par in a major championship by a player. The previous record on the LPGA Tour had been 19-under par, shared by five players, Dottie Pepper at the 1999 Kraft Nabisco Championship, Karen Stupples at the 2004 Women's British Open, Cristie Kerr at the 2010 LPGA Championship, Yani Tseng at the 2011 Wegmans LPGA Championship and Park In-Bee at the 2015 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

The South Korean female golfer also broke the 54-hole scoring record at an LPGA major by five shots. The previous record belonged to Annika Sorenstam at the 2004 LPGA Championship. Chun also set the new record for the 72-hole LPGA major championship.

Chun joined Park Se Ri as one of the two players to win two LPGA victories at major championships. Park won the LPGA Championship and the U.S. Women's Open in 1998 while Chun won the 2015 U.S. Women's Open as a non-member.

In an interview after her historic win, the 22-year old golfer said that she was still overwhelmed by it all. When asked about how she felt on the new records that she had set, the golfer replied, "I do not know because I still feel like I am dreaming now."

She then mentioned, "Without nerves, I feel bored. I had a lot of pressure on the course, but I enjoyed my game. I tried my best to stick to my game plan."
