"Three Meals a Day - Fishing Village" kicked off on October 9 for its second season. The show is a spin-off of South Korean cooking program "Three Meals a Day." Actors Cha Seung Won, Yoo Hae Jin and Son Ho Jun are back in Manjaedo Island for the second installment of the spin-off, as noted by Korea Herald on Oct. 7.

"Fishing Village" aired its first episode on January 23 and ended the first season on March 20. South Korean singer-actor Son was tapped early this year to replace Jang Geun Seok for the show after Jang allegedly backed out due to a tax evasion issue, as reported by Drama Beans on Jan. 19.

"We finished our second filming session and came back yesterday (Oct. 2)," producer Na Young Suk revealed. "We film three times for 'Fishing Village,' so we have one more trip left."

The producers of the show added that the content of the second installment "will feel different" due to the changing seasons. However, "Fishing Village 2" will feature the same cast and will still be in Manjaedo Island just like in season one.

"It's not the harsh winter environment anymore. It's very beautiful, and the things that happen are very different from the wintertime," writer Kim Dae Joo said.

Producer Shin Hyo Jung added, "Just because it's summer doesn't mean that everything is perfect. There are difficulties that are just as harsh as in the winter."

However, Na clarified that the new season is not entirely different from the previous.

"We thought about it a lot. But the more we talked about what our viewers really want, we came to realize that Season 2 didn't have to be really different."

The producer added that the cast will be seen being self-sufficient while having fun in this season.

"(The show) may seem boring to some, but you can really see the cast being self-sufficient and having fun on this season," Na admitted.

"Three Meals a Day - Fishing Village 2" airs every Friday on tvN at 9:45 PM.
