Se7en Breaks Silence After Three Years; Claims Innocent of Sex Massage Scandal
After three years of silence about the sex massage scandal, Se7en finally spoke and claimed that he is innocent.
The K-pop singer used his social media account to communicate his side about the three-year old rumor, Korea Times reported.
He posted on Instagram that "It was mentally stressful to ponder from yesterday where to start."
"I have let myself believe that fans will someday find out the truth. But, apparently, it turned out to be my fault not to have explained myself earlier," he explained his reluctance to speak up.
The 32 year old singer added that "media reports had people believe that I had visited an illegal massage parlor to receive a sex service."
He stressed that the reports were not true and that he only "first visited two Thai-Chinese style massage parlors that day but they were closed. Then I visited another place where I could get a massage by a blind masseuse." However, he left immediately when he realized that people might think of an obscene reason behind his presence in the shop.
The scandal erupted in 2013 when the singer was completing the mandatory military duty in Pocheon, Gyeonggi. According to reports, he sneaked out of the camp along with other celebrity friends and allegedly went to an illegal spa, Hello Kpop recalled.
Photos of the celebrity soldiers outside the military camp were leaked online.
An investigation was conducted by the Ministry of National Defense involving Se7en and other soldiers from the entertainment industry. Se7en was found innocent for the sex massage parlor scandal but was charged for sneaking out of the camp without permit.
On his post, Se7en made a promise to his fans that he will not cause disappointment again.
The singer was recently mentioned on headlines when his romantic relationship with "My Girl" star Lee Da Hae was disclosed.
