Song Joong Ki, Shin Min Ah Bag Outstanding Korean Actor and Actress Awards in Seoul Drama Awards
Actors Song Joong Ki and Shin Min Ah bagged the top honors in the recently concluded 2016 Seoul Drama Awards that was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, South Korea on Thursday night.
According to a report from website allkpop, Song Joong Ki took home the "Outstanding Korean Actor" award in the Korean drama category for his portrayal of Captain Yoo Si Jin in the hit drama series "Descendants of the Sun." In the drama, Captain Yoo Si Jin is the team leader of an elite special forces unit in South Korea called the Alpha Team. He is a happy-go-lucky, lively character who is also confident and likes to joke around. He falls in love with a lovely doctor named Kang Mo Yeon (played by Song Hye Kyo) and did anything to save her every time her life is in danger.
Shin Min Ah, on the other hand, won the "Outstanding Korean Actress" for her role in the romance-comedy drama series "Oh My Venus." In the series, Shin played the role of Kang Joo Eun, a 33-year old lawyer and was formerly known as the "Venus of Daegu." She gained weight and was abandoned by her long-time boyfriend. She decided to gain her confidence back by exercising with the help of the famous Korean personal trainer in Hollywood named John Kim (So Ji Sub). The two then fell in love, got married, and built a family at the end of the drama.

The British-American TV series "The Night Manager" won the Grand Prize during the Awards Night. According to a Korea Herald report, the series is based on the 1993 novel of the same title by John le Carre about an ex-British soldier who is recruited by an intelligence operative to navigate Whitehall and Washington, D.C. where an alliance between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade exists.
