Zayn Malik was recently forced to cancel an upcoming concern because according to the former One Direction singer, he's not 'confident' enough to perform Hollywoodlife reported.

The star was supposed to perform at Dubai's Autism Rocks Arena on Oct. 7,  but the 23-year-old singer realized he won't be able to perform. The event's site published an apology statement issued by Zayn:

"Dear Fans I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October," he wrote in his announcement. "I am truly sorry to disappoint you. I hope to see you all soon."

Hollywoodlife said that this isn't the first time Zayn has  backed out of a show due to his anxiety. He was supposed to join Capital FM's Summertime Ball on June 11 at Wembley Stadium in London, but announced just before the show that he had been facing the "worst anxiety" of his career and wouldn't be able to perform.

Since canceling his Capital FM appearance, Zayn has stayed out of the media spotlight and has spent much time with his model girlfriend Gigi Hadid. Reports said that Hadid has really helped Zayn with his anxiety.
