Chris Brown Arrested for Assault : 11-hour Standoff With the Police at Singer's Mansion
Chris Brown was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after an 11-hour stand-off with the police at the singer's mansion TMZ reported.
The report said that on Tuesday former Miss California Baylee Curran informed 911 at around 3 am that Chris Brown had pointed a gun at her after she praised the jewelry of Brown's friend.
LAPD Police responded to Baylee's 911 call and arrived at Brown's mansion in Los Angeles, but they were not allowed to come in and it took hours before they were able to get a search warrant to check the home for evidence of an assault weapon.
LAPD Agents of the Robbery-Homicide Division searched the grounds of the mansion. All the people in Brown's house around, half a dozen men and women, were patted down and interviewed.
Los Angeles Police Department said that Brown was cooperating with them before arresting the singer at around 5pm in the afternoon. Brown will be formally booked on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, authorities said.
A felony assault with a deadly weapon in Los Angeles leads to a four year sentence in a county jail and a $10,000 penalty.
Brown has pleaded guilty in the past for a felony assault case involving ex-girlfriend and pop singer Rihanna prohibiting him to carry any kind of firearm under California law.
Authorities has not yet issue a statement if a gun was indeed found in Brown's mansion. Although there has been reports that when the police arrived Brown threw a bag out of a window which apparently contained a gun and a packet of drugs.
Miss Curran, who is trying her luck to be an actress in Hollywood, shared a video in Instagram after incident saying 'Do you all honestly think I wanted this, that I caused this? 'If somebody put a gun to your head what would you do? Call the police?' She has deleted the video.
