Jennifer Lawrence is 2016's Highest-Paid Actress in Hollywood
For a second year in a row, Jennifer Lawrence is the highest-paid actress in Hollywood according to Forbes' list of highest paid actresses in Hollywood. She earned $46 million dollars in a span of 12 months.
Hunger Games Phenomenon
The 26 year old star is the youngest and richest woman on Forbes' top 10 list. In 2015 her earnings were a whopping $52 million dollars. She owed the huge bump in her 2015 earnings from the massively popular Hunger Games Trilogy.
Although the series is over, Lawrence still commands a hefty paycheck earning $20 million dollars as the female lead together with Chris Prat in the upcoming film "Passengers" next year 2017.
Top Ten
Lawrence's perch at the top of the earnings list is followed by Melissa McCarthy and Scarlett Johansson who were also the runner ups last year.
Scarlett Johansson, with the possibility of starring in more Marvel films in the future, may unseat Lawrence later. Johansson recently became the highest-grossing actress of all time.
McCarthy and Johansson were trailed by Jennifer Aniston and Chinese Superstar Fan Bingbing who is the only Asian star to make the list. Bingbing was also in the list in 2015 thanks to her high-profile participation in films like Lady of the Dynasty and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
New Entrant
This year's list also brought in for the first time Bollywood star Deepika Padukone. The actress, who recently landed Vanity Fair's list of Hollywood's Next Generation stars, came in at the tenth spot raking in $10 million.
