EXO Achieves 'Triple Millionaire' Title with 'Lotto' Album Sales

There's no stopping EXO from making history!

On August 18, SM Entertainment said that popular South Korean boy group EXO has become a triple million-seller with its third batch of album.

Allkpop reported that SM Entertainment, the company label of the boy group, also stated that the group's third studio album entitled 'EX'ACT' that was released in June, sold 796,085 copies of both Korean and Chinese versions. The newly-released repackaged album 'Lotto' sold a total of 374,280 copies for overall sold copies of 1,170,365. Such feat marks EXO's triple millionaire title. Combining the group's first and second albums, they have sold more than a million copies for each of their first 3 albums.

EXO's first million-seller was the set of its first studio album entitled "XOXO" and its repackaged album "Growl", which were released in June and August 2013, respectively.

The second was the set of its second studio album "EXODUS" and the repackaged "Love Me Right" in March and June last year.

In a statement, EXO thanked their fans, collectively known as EXO-Ls, and relayed their happiness for the huge success of their third LP stating, "Because the [album's] sound is different to our usual style and genre of music, we honestly did not expect to place first on music charts. So after our album was released, we waited until one in the morning to check the charts, and we were so happy to see that we were first place. We want to sincerely thank not just EXO-Ls but also thank everyone who loves our music, and please look forward to our performances on stage."

EXO debuted in 2012 and since then, the group has been tagged as one of the top K-Pop groups not only in South Korea but also globally. The song "Lotto" from the group's current album with the same name topped the music charts as soon as the song was released at 12 A.M. On Thursday, August 18.
