The long-awaited Pokémon World Championship will surprisingly not feature Pokémon Go. Held from August 19-21 in San Francisco, players all over the globe will once again, come together to showcase their skills. Global virtual reality games like Pokémon and Dota are causing quite a stir in the gaming community because of the engagement of players not just online but with their physical presence. The recently launched Dota 2 International Competition 2016, for example, garnered many audiences all over the world. The battle is ongoing as the winner is yet to be determined. In the same way, the annual 2016 Poké World Championship is looked upon as a major event that any game enthusiast should not miss. The master players from U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin, America, and Asia will converge in one place, game consoles at hand.

The video game battle where only the most serious Pokémon enthusiast can win is specially crafted as an arena for players that underwent and won minor events in order to get a badge of qualification. This is their gate pass to the global competition. The affair is not open to the public as the organizers decided to keep it private. Only family members are allowed to enter the arena. A schedule was released for the live streaming of the virtual reality game and the public can access it through the Pokémon TV channel. The Pokémon World Championship will run in a course of three days. With a price money of $500,000, everyone is sure pumped up to win. However, the Pokémon Go craze doesn't seem to have affected the rules of the competition because the management maintained the sequence and kinds of events without alterations. One obvious reasons is that it's harder to cover a wider area. At present, players will just play on the raised podiums inside the gaming arena but with all the hype that Pokémon is causing at the moment, it's not impossible for it to be included in the future.
