‘Star Trek: Discovery’: Scoop and Revelations

The new upcoming TV series 'Star Trek: Discovery' revealed that the lead character will be a woman. However, there is no a lead actress yet because they are still on the process of casting.

Bryan Fuller, the executive producer of the upcoming series, told the press that they don't have anybody cast yet and still on the process of casting. Fuller also added that he's looking at the schedules of some actresses he worked before but he didn't mention their names.

Fuller said that the series will take place 10 years before Captain Kirk's (William Shatner) 5-year mission with the Enterprise in the original version of Star Trek series. He added that the new series is set at the prime universe not in the Chris Pine fronted movies.

Robots, new takes on classic aliens and some new aliens are the most spectacular and state of art work that the viewers should watch for. A gay character and more aliens will be featured by the Crew, which has yet to be cast.

The gay character was inspired by Fuller when rumors appeared about Jeri Ryan's "Star Trek: Voyager" character possibly a lesbian.

Avid fans and followers of the series must think of 'Star Trek: Discovery' as a novel because each of the episode becomes a chapter.

There may be some NSFW language because the show is on CBS All Access but it is still Star Trek after all. They may shoot scenes to test and see what works for the production value of the new series.

"We discuss every day about language and what's appropriate and how far we should go. Is it appropriate to see a bridge blow up and see somebody say, 'Oh s--t!' or something stronger than that," Fuller said.

'Star Trek: Discovery' premieres on CBS before moving to CBS All Access on January 2017.
