Nineteen America companies participated in the "Global Leading Companies Mentoring Startups" opening event in partnership with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday. The event launched the beginning of a campaign by the Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea to help local startups grow to a global scale.

The American companies included Facebook, IBM, Microsoft and Boeing, Yonhap News reports. Each company agreed to support 14 Korean startups in technology development and business networks worldwide.

"The establishment of such a cooperative network with leading global firms will serve as a good opportunity to create positive synergy for mutual business growth beyond a simple mentoring service," the ministry's number two official Choi Jae-you said.

The president of Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, John Schuldt, looks forward to co-prosperity through the new co-work.
