Reports from China declared a clear stance against the use of nuclear weapons in North Korea. The nation has set the goal of realizing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, South Korea's nuclear envoy reported on Wednesday.

Chinese official, Wu Daiwei and South Korea's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs, Kim Hong-kyun held talks and discussed Ri Su-yong's visit to Beijing.

Ri, a North Korean official, also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Kim said, "When Ri Su-yong visited China, the Chinese side made clear its stance on the Korean Peninsula, including denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."

"The Chinese side voiced its strong opposition to North Korea's additional provocations, including more nuclear and missile tests," Kim added. Wu also indicated that China will unite more with the U.N. to enforce the sanctions placed against North Korea's nuclear program and missile tests.

The meetings between China and South Korea come just after a recent warning from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that suggests North Korea is continuing is main nuclear bomb fuel plant.

The suspicions have not been confirmed. However, South Korea and the U.S. are considering the warning from the IAEA with "grave concern," Yonhap reports.
