The End Of ‘Linsanity’ As We Know It? Charlotte Hornets Only Honoring Jeremy Lin’s Hair, Instead Of Stats?
Jeremy Lin's lack of playing time could be the Charlotte Hornets showing a lack of interest in a revival of "Linsanity," as Ecumenical News noted the Taiwanese-American's dropping stats.
"Despite the hype that put 'Linsanity' back on the spotlight early this year, it seems Jeremy Lin is falling behind as new reports suggest that his figures are gradually going down."
The site noted that the Charlotte Hornets are not maximizing Jeremy Lin's court time, citing the point guard's mere 23 minutes playing time in the game against the Indiana Pacers.
At that game, he made only seven points while teammate Kemba Walker and Nicolar Batum made 33 and 31 points, respectively.
While the Charlotte Hornets are still looking for their A-game for this season for the NBA, Jeremy Lin is in danger of becoming the next has-been as the team has been making little use of the 27-year-old point guard.
Meanwhile, while his playing time has been reduced, what has made headlines recently was Linsanity's hair which is being featured in a bobblehead limited edition collection.
In fact, it would appear that the Charlotte Hornets are giving more importance on the Linsanity's appearance instead of Jeremy Lin's stats.
"Lin's hairstyles draw eyes the moment he steps on the court, and now the Hornets are honoring the guard's flow. On March 12, the first 7,500 fans through the doors at Time Warner Cable Arena will receive Lin bobbleheads that feature his stylish hair," a Bleacher Reportstory said.
Jeremy Lin has also made headlines for standing up for the Asian community, crying foul to Chris Rock's portrayal of stereotypes at the recent Academy Awards.
Through his Twitter account, Jeremy Lin bashed Rock for implying that Asian kids, portrayed as smart math wizards, were behind the counting of the votes for the winners of this year's Oscars.
"Seriously though, when is this going to change?!? Tired of it being "cool" and "ok" to bash Asians smh #Oscars," Lin tweeted.
