'Allegiant' Plot Tackles Bisexuality? Theo James ‘Connecting The Dots’ As Upcoming Movie Premiere Nears

Theo James said the "Allegiant" plot might be making parallelisms to bisexuality as the British actor promoted the latest installment in the "Divergent" franchise, Hollywood Reporter said.

"That's an interesting parallel to make. I hadn't connected those dots myself, but there's definitely truth in there. ... Yeah, I can see it. That's interesting," James said.

The site noted that the "Allegiant's" plot features an expansive use of deviance and rebellion compared with the virtues that surround the characters, such as "selflessness, peacefulness, honesty, intelligence and bravery."

"The five factions represent the basic levels of conformity, and a divergent fits into not one of them, but multiple," James was quoted as saying.

The "Allegiant" star had changed and felt "like a different person from when he started divergent" as Theo James revealed in an interview, as shared by Just Jared.

"It's very much an evolving process. As an actor, you always bring part of you into anything you do, it's natural. As your own person goes through the different changes of your life, they end up informing the character you play and the mistakes you've made or the lessons you've learned," Theo James said.

TV 3, meanwhile, said the action-packed environment that was promoted on the set of "Allegiant" as well as the other movies in the franchise was doing Theo James some good.

"I quite like blowing off the cobwebs of things. We live in a world where there are no regular levels of high threat. Sometimes I just need to be woken up," he said.

Enstarz teased that "Allegiant" would be an exciting update to the events of the last "Divergent" movie, featuring James and his co-star Shailene Woodley.

"For the first time in their lives, they will leave the only city that they have ever known in order for them to find solutions to their problems. However, what they don't know is that outside the wall is a more dangerous path for the two main characters," the plot teaser said.
