'Life Is Strange' Season 2 Release Date Bumped To 2017? May Focus On A New Set Of Characters

Game developers Dontnod Entertainment have confirmed season 2 for "Life is Strange," although they have yet to announce its exact release date.

According to Game Spot, the episodic video game is already in development. Dontnod's co-founder, Alain Damasio recently released a statement to a French publication.

In a statement translated by Reddit user Koyl, Damasio said that he worked as a script doctor for the franchise's first installment.

"I worked as a script doctor on 'Life is Strange,' developed by the studio Dontnod, and I will participate in 'Life is Strange 2' later," he revealed.

According to Video Games Blogger, the much-anticipated follow-up may finally arrive either this year or in 2017.

"Everyone's asking that question, and the short answer is a guess for end January 2016 at the earliest and more realistically January 2017 at the latest," the publication wrote.

In addition to the confirmation of "Life is Strange" season 2, it can be remembered that the company has previously hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the first game before. 

In a 2015 interview with Polygon, game producer Luc Baghadoust expressed his interest in developing another installment.

"I would love to have the opportunity to do another season," he said.

Ahead of its release date, art Director Michel Koch teased that season 2 will feature a new set of characters.

"We can really go with other characters, other locations, but still keep the identity of the game, the themes of the game," he explained.

Fans have been clamoring for a follow-up to "Life is Strange" since season 1 dropped in 2014.

However, while some are eagerly awaiting season 2's release date, some fans are having trouble with the idea of the franchise focusing on a new character the sequel.
