'Gundam: The Origin II Artesia’s Sorrow' To Screen In Los Angeles, Details Released!
Sunrise announced on Thursday that "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin II - Artesia's Sorrow" will be screened in at Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles, CA, Anime News Network writes.
The Japanese studio company collaborated with Azoland Pictures to screen the "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin II - Artesia's Sorrow" as well as its first episode titled "Blue Eyed Casval." Both films will be featured in English dub and the one-time screening scheduled at 6:00 PM on October 31, the same day episode 2 will premiere at 15 theaters in Japan. Tickets are available online via Brown Paper Tickets.
"Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin II - Artesia's Sorrow" will catch up from the events during the first episode. Set in UC (Universal Century) 0071 - 3 years after their escape from Zeon and agents of Zabi family, siblings Casval and Artesia Deikun are transitioning into a new chapter at Earth with their new identities as Edward and Sayla Mass. The film also shows how Casval eventually became the Red Comet known as Char Aznable, who is one of the most iconic characters in the anime history.
A noted change here is the development of mobile suit development compared to the manga, when Zeon forces are creating their line of mobile suits in isolation, which Earth Federation responded with their own lineup featuring the Guntank, Guncannon, and the popular RX-78 Gundam. In the "Origin" series, the Federation is already using the Guntank and Zeon responded by creating their first bipedal mobile suits, according to a report from Forbes.
"Mobile suit Gundam: The Origin II - Artesia's Sorrow" is directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, who also wrote the original manga version of the series. The "Origin" series features the entire back story, following the events before the One Year War in UC 0079 such as the assassination of Casval and Artesia's father Zeon Zom Deikun, the rise of Zabi family into power, construction of Side 7 and of course, the research and development of Mobile Suits.
The "Origin" series is confirmed to have 4 parts which was announced in March 2014. "Blue Eyed Casval" premiered in February 28 in Japan and selected countries.
