Apple iMac 2016: Rumors and Specs Reveal A New 8K Display

Apple iMac 2016 specs could bring along some drastic improvements in display, although no concrete info is available on other key specs and features yet.

Readers perhaps remember the 2015 LG press release that referred to a future iMac 8K with the assertion that Apple was keen on bringing a superior "Quad ultra-high definition" experience in the all-in-one Macintosh lineup.

Quite expectedly, the tech sphere was soon abuzz with rumors and speculations about the impending 8K display in the iMac 2015.Came Oct. 13, 2015, the day on which the fruit-themed tech-giant last updated the iMac line-up, and all that the company had to offer was a 5K Retina display in 27.0-inch models and 4K Retina display in 21.5-inch models.

And now, according to some new reports, the much-anticipated iMac 8K could finally happen this year.

While not much is known about any possible iMac 2016 release date yet, it is extremely likely that it will hit the market sometime in Q4 2016.

So far other iMac 2016 specs are concerned, it is difficult to predict which way Apple is planning to go with the future iMac models.

Reports are particularly sketchy when it comes to the chip.

The good folks at MacRumors have pointed out that Intel is unlikely to release desktop class socketed Skylake chips with integrated Iris or Iris Pro graphics that would ideally match all lower-end iMacs with integrated graphics.

That makes it even more difficult to guess Apple's next move vis-à-vis any possible processor upgrade in iMac 2016 specs.

Worth mentioning, there are reports about Intel planning to release Kaby Lake, the 13-nanometer successor to the Skylake sometime in the second half on this year. With that into consideration, some analysts are pointing out that iMac 2016 specs could sport the Kaby Lake.

Korea Portal can not independently verify the authenticity of the ongoing rumors about other specs and feature.

However, it is probable that with hardware prices falling, Apple could discontinue all non-Retina 21.5-inch models.
