New Album Of Lorde Expected This Year? What To Expect
Kiwi singing sensation, Lorde, previously revealed that she's working on a new album following her birthday tweet last November.
"It's been a studio birthday so far you'll be happy to know," she tweeted last Nov. 7 as reported by New Zealand Herald.
And while many are most likely expecting a follow up to her phenomenal single "Royals," word has it that Lorde is trying to work on other genre.
The Grammy award winning artist is reportedly gearing up for a new album that is entirely different from her recent "Pure Heroine" record.
MTV exclusively reported that Lorde is actually collaborating with EDM group Disclosure.
Lorde has reportedly worked on the duo's song "Magnets," which immediately made abuzz with her fans.
"How she wanted to change every little bit and really be involved with the whole thing is really cool," Disclosure said of Lorde's involvement. "It just reminded us to pay really close attention to every little piece."
Working with Magnets is reportedly Lorde's way of hinting a shift in genre.
And when it comes to her inspiration for her sophomore album, the 19-year-old Kiwi sensation is reportedly looking at her experiences following the success of her debut album.
"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her new album in an interview with BBC. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
However, Lorde admitted that she still is having a hard time imagining how her new album would sound like.
"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" Lorde explained. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point, you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
