Chris Evans Says Goodbye To 'Captain America' After 'Civil War'? Marvel Contract Only Until 'Avengers 2'

Chris Evans is willing to be "Captain America" even past "Avengers 2."

It was reported earlier that Evans' contract to Marvel runs until "Avengers: Infinity War," but it does not mean the end for the 34-year-old actor as he said he is more than happy to extend his stay as Captain America.

In a recent interview by Collider, Evans mentioned that he wanted to concentrate on his movie directing, but if Marvel still wants him, they got him.

"I've never had such a relationship where you have such-I mean look at my resume, I'm used to being on set being like, 'Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?" Evans said.

He added that Marvel is making great movies and commend them to have the best directors, producers, actors and scripts and according to him, Marvel is like a playground as an actor.

According to reports, Evans has already mentioned that he have plans to move behind the cameras and only willing to continue acting under Marvel contract.

Evans said that he can't see himself pursuing acting strictly outside of what he is contractually obligated to do.

"I've known for a while I wanted to direct, but [time] never really opens up. There's another movie to do, there's another acting job. It just got to a point where I was like, you know what - I have to do this," Evans added.

"Captain America: Civil War" will be making its way to cinemas on May 6, and that marks Chris Evan's seventh appearance in a Marvel movie as the star-spangled superhero.
