Trouble In Two Directions? Kendall Jenner Suing, Harry Styles Facing Suit Over Photo?
Kendall Jenner has filed a lawsuit against a skin care company, while rumored boyfriend Harry Styles is facing a copyright issue for the unauthorized use of a photograph.
Documents obtained by TMZ said that reps for Kendall Jenner have sought damages of not less than $10 million for the unauthorized model's likeness to promote Cutera's Laser Genesis treatment.
According to documents in the lawsuit, lawyers for Kendall Jenner stated that the model received at least $10 million for her endorsements in magazine ads.
The publications include "Vogue, Vogue Paris, Vogue Japan, Vogue Brazil, Harper's Bazaar (shot by Karl Lagerfeld), Allure, GQ, Glamour, Marie Claire, LOVE, Interview, Paper, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Cleo, Garage, Dazed, Raine and BLANK, amongst others."
Kendall's counsel, Todd Wilson, was quoted in the TMZ article as saying, "Today's lawsuit by Ms. Jenner against Cutera, Inc., for the unauthorized use of Ms. Jenner's name and likeness to promote its product should serve notice that Ms. Jenner will vigorously defend her rights under the law."
Kendall Jenner's rumored boyfriend Harry Styles, meanwhile, may be facing a lawsuit of his own for a copyright issue for posting a photo of a boxer wrapping his wrists.
Sugarscape posted a screenshot of the Instagram post, as well as a screenshot of the photographer's statement on Facebook.
"750,000 likes - But I don't like it. I'm interested to see who is this guy that published my picture and got 750,000 likes, without event mentioning my name," a Facebook user known as Brussels Photography - Ezequiel Scagnetti said.
There is no word yet if Scagnetti is going to file a lawsuit against the Kendall Jenner's rumored boyfriend. Harry Styles already reportedly deleted the photo.
Australian Network News initially thought Styles' removal of the Instagram post was a "change of heart."
However, the photograph eventually gave itself away as the person in the photos did not have the One Direction hottie's tattoos.
"It appears Styles not only dissed Jenner. He also forgot to credit the original photographer," the article said.
The two celebs have been hogging the news lately after the rumor of their romance surfaced.
This was not the first copyright issue involving Kendall Jenner's rumored boyfriend Harry Styles. "Last year, Zedd called out Styles' band on Instagram. A line in his song 'True Colors' sounds similar to One Direction's 'Drag Me Down,'" Australian Network News added.
