On Thursday, LG released the V10, the first of the tech giant's line of premium smartphones that the company expects to pull them up from their financial ordeal, reported The Chosun Ilbo on Oct. 2.

The LG V10 is set to be out in the South Korean market on Thursday and overseas market later on.

According to LG'S head of IT business division Cho Joon Ho, the company's latest premium line - the V series - will be a "notch above" the current G series and will feature more specialized functions.

Android Central noted Oct. 1  the key features of LG's latest and improved smartphone.

The V10 is equipped with a shock-absorbing feature thanks to its Grade 316L stainless steel wrapped around the 5.7 inch "Dura Guard" Quantum IPS display, along with a silicone-based "Dura Skin."

Photographers and "selfie" addicts will also love the two five-megapixel front-facing cameras LG has provided on the V10, which aims to wipe out the existence of selfie sticks. One camera is capable of shooting at a standard of 80 degrees, while the other widens at 120 degrees.

The trademark features of LG such as the rear volume and power button are still present in the V10, with a latest addition to the rear features - a redesign power button with a round fingerprint scanner built into it.

The LG V10 will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset. It is also equipped with a 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and a 3,000 milliampere-hour removable battery. The line will come in various colors, including Luxe White, Space Black, Opal Blue, Ocean Blue and Modern Beige.

The Chosun Ilbo also noted that the company is relying on the LG V10 to boost operating profits, which dropped to 200 million won in the second quarter of 2015 from 86.7 billion won in the same same quarter of 2014. This a direct result of the sluggish sales of the premium G4 smartphone that was released in the market in the first half of 2015.

LG will reportedly sell their premium smartphone V10 in the market at 799,700 won, relatively cheaper than other premium smartphones by 100,000 won.
