'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Meredith Survives Brutal Attack But Could Lose Her Hearing?
Spoilers revealed that when "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 returns for its midseason premier, Meredith Grey, who has become Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's Chief of General Surgery, will get another shocking life incident as she gets badly beaten by a patient.
Christian Post wrote that Grey's co-workers will teami up to save her life after the brutal attack, as shown in a sneak peek video.
Ben (Jason George) was shown saying, "The guy who did this, he was stable non-aggressive. He was a threat. I left him for five minutes and this happened."
Owen went on to say that the patient was likely unaware of his actions as he was in a postictal stage, which means he may not even remember what happened.
Kelly McCreary, who plays Meredith's half-sister, revealed "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 spoilers to TVLine saying that this incident was different from Mer's previous brushes with death.
"As bad as things have gotten for Meredith, this is bad in a whole different way," she said.
Cinemablend had earlier speculated that Mer will be losing her hearing. The title could be an allusion to the permanent effect of the attack, it added.
Further spoilers have become available to various news sites claiming that Meredith would be the focus of the next few episodes starting with the one to be aired this Thursday.
Meanwhile, Melty.com said that a backstory between Nathan Riggs and Owen Hunt will add to the tension at Grey Sloan.
Variety earlier gave "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 spoilers on Nathan's previous relationship with Owen's sister.
Also, the second half of the season should also answer questions regarding the relationships between Owen and Amelia, Jackson and April, Maggie and Andrew, and Alex and Jo, Melty added.
"The Sound of Silence" is directed by Denzel Washington and will air this Thursday.
